All PGY-1 applicants apply through ERAS, the Electronic Residency Application Service, through your medical school. International medical graduate applicants also use ERAS through the ECFMG (Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates). The ECFMG phone number is (215) 386-5900. International medical graduates will need a California Evaluation Status Letter from the California Medical Board; their phone number is (916) 263-2368.

The deadline for applications and supporting materials is November 1, 2012. We will consider your application for an interview once the following are received:

  • Common Application Form
  • Personal Statement
  • USMLE or COMLEX Step I Score
  • Official Transcript
  • California Evaluation Status Letter (IMG’s)
  • ECFMG Certificate (IMG’s)

Your full application must be received by the November 1 deadline and must include all the above items plus the following:

  • Two Letters of Recommendation
  • Dean’s Letter

We require USMLE or COMLEX Step 1 scores with a passing grade. As for step II, although not required, it is a good idea to submit this score as well.

All applicants must have graduated from medical school within the last 5 years (or have 2 years experience in a regular clinical practice), and must have at least 1 year of clinical experience in the US (medical school rotations in the US count toward this requirement). We do not sponsor visas for medical trainees.

If upon review of your application you are selected to interview, you will be contacted by telephone and/or email. Our interviews are held on Mondays and Fridays. We will be interviewing from early November into January.

Couples or partners are encouraged to apply to our program. Every attempt is made to accommodate individual scheduling needs.
