Arlene Vázquez, M.D.
University of California, San Francisco; Arlene was born and raised in Santa Cruz, CA where she developed a love for the redwoods and ocean. After high school, she moved to rural Wisconsin for new adventures and undergraduate school. There, she volunteered teaching ESL classes and as a Spanish translator at an elementary school. After graduation she spent six months exploring Southern France, then came home to work on art, music and tutoring high school students before starting medical school. Arlene is passionate about social justice and working with underserved populations, particularly women, children and Latino immigrants. In her spare time, she loves hanging out at the park with family and friends, making functional art with ceramics, gardening, swimming, building things and casual/extreme bike rides.
