 |  | Kasey Deis Program Coordinator; a Northern California native, spent her childhood days riding horses through the redwoods and along the coastal trails and beaches of Trinidad, CA. After attending College of the Redwoods and spending several spectacular months absorbing the magic of the Hawaiian Islands, Kasey moved a few hundred miles south for warmer, less foggy climate than Trinidad had to offer. Within a few years of settling in Sonoma Co, she met her future husband and joined the folks at the SRFMR. She enjoyed more than 7 years as Selection Coordinator, assisting in the process of recruiting our unique and fabulous residents. She is now the Program Coordinator and enjoys the many challenges and endless rewards the position brings. Kasey feels both grateful and honored to be a part of such a special place and to work among so many amazing people. Outside of work life, Kasey enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter, family and friends. She loves to garden, travel, and spend time outdoors. | | |  |  |  | Nelly Montesinos Education Coordinator; was born in the beautiful state of Oaxaca, Mexico and raised here in the sunny state of California. She attended the University of California, Davis, where she majored in Spanish Literature. Before joining the staff at the SRFMR in 2008, Nelly worked mainly in the education field as a teacher’s assistant and a science, math and Spanish tutor. It was during her time spent volunteering at a free clinic during her third year in college that she realized her interest for the medical field. Working with the wonderful staff, faculty, residents and medical students at SRFMR has only reinforced her desire to peruse a career as a medical professional.
Outside of work, Nelly enjoys traveling, running, dancing, soccer, and spending time with her family and friends. | | |  |  |  | Beth Pardo Evaluation Coordinator; is a Native of Northern California and attended Empire Business College here in Santa Rosa. Beth’s business career began in the sales office of a local “natural products” company, first in food, then in homeopathic remedies. She says that in an indirect way that lead her to the medical field. “I knew I couldn’t be a doctor or a nurse, but I wanted to be involved with doctors and health care”. “What a perfect match to be able to use my business skills and work in a medical teaching environment”. She has been associated with the residency program since 2002 and says that working for the program has been the best part of her career and the most rewarding job she has ever had. Beth is the mother of two daughters, three step children and grandmother to six grand daughters…so far. Her off hours are spent caring for her home and family and her favorite hobby is anything to do with interior design. | | |  |  |  | Sarah Rasmussen Selection Coordinator; born and raised in Santa Rosa, will always consider the calm weather, friendly community, beautiful wine country and breathtaking west coast beaches home. After attending Santa Rosa Junior College and working at several administrative jobs in Marin County over a span of 8 years she decided it was time to rid herself of the stress of commuting and seek employment closer to home. In 2007 Sarah enthusiastically joined the Santa Rosa Family Medicine Residency as Selection Coordinator and felt once again at home. She has never felt better about the work that she does and enjoys going to work everyday. She especially loves working with people who care so much about the well being of others. Sarah feels very fortunate to have the opportunity each year to come in contact with so many inspiring, diverse and gifted people. She finally feels like her hours and days spent at work benefit a meaningful cause. Outside of work Sarah enjoys spending time with family and friends, hiking, camping, boating, dancing, wine tasting and riding rollercoasters. | | |  |  |  | Heike van Nellen Scheduling Coordinator; has a background of more than 10 years experience in healthcare working as an executive assistant managing physician calendars, creating schedules, coordinating meetings and taking the minutes. In addition, she has a background in human resources which included establishing policies and procedures. She joined the Santa Rosa Family Medicine Residency staff in 2009. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two very busy teenage girls. | | |  |
