Through this lens, Allison was able to better understand the need for primary care physicians, particularly in underserved areas, and realized her passion for community health would be best served as a physician. Allison attended Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine (VCOM) in South Carolina. While at VCOM, she continued working with underserved populations by volunteering at free clinics as well as spending time in El Salvador and the Dominican Republic. Additionally, she became active in health care advocacy as a student physician by serving as the South Carolina Osteopathic Medical Society’s Executive Board Student Representative, the South Carolina Medical Association’s Medical Student Section Executive Board Member and the South Carolina Medical Political Action Committee’s Student Representative.
Allison’s interests include maternal child health, childhood obesity, addiction medicine, health policy and advocacy, sports medicine, and global health. Outside of medicine, she enjoys spending most of her time outdoors, eating oysters at Hog Island, international travel, and spending time with friends, family and her adorable rescue dog, Leo.
