Allison Spicher, M.D.
University of Minnesota Medical School; Allison was born in the East Bay of Northern California and moved to snowy Minnesota with her family when she was eleven years old. Allison grew up playing competitive soccer, camping with her family, and was privileged enough to travel overseas multiple times during her childhood. Observing global poverty firsthand at a young age inspired Allison’s passion for social justice. In her undergraduate years, Allison studied Human Physiology and completed the Community Engagement Scholar Program at the University of Minnesota. Allison has volunteered as a mentor to American Indian youth, as a crisis counselor for victims of sexual assault, as a curriculum developer for a program promoting health careers to under represented youth, in addition to many other roles. Before attending medical school, Allison took a year to step away from academia and work for the American Cancer Society. Understanding both the physical and social barriers to health has been a central focus of Allison’s educational pursuits. Within medicine Allison’s areas of interest include holistic women’s health, pediatrics, and providing culturally humble healthcare. Outside of medicine, Allison enjoys cooking, rock climbing, playing soccer, and new adventures. Her adventure partners include her husband, puppy, and cat, who are all very excited to explore the Santa Rosa area.
