Brendan Payne, M.D.
University of North Carolina School of Medicine; Brendan grew up in Maryland, but headed down south to UNC-Chapel Hill to complete his undergraduate studies. While there, he spent several summers hosting medical teams and teaching English in the Dominican Republic (DR). During his time in the DR, he began to appreciate the power of the physician-patient relationship to affect individual and community change across cultural and lingual barriers. It was these experiences that led Brendan to pursue his undergraduate degree in Global Health and begin his journey toward Family Medicine. During medical school, Brendan spent time mentoring younger students, coordinating a free diabetes clinic, and learning how to be a good newlywed husband to his awesome wife, Emily. He is passionate about using Family Medicine as a platform for partnering with patients to improve the health of communities. Outside of clinic, Brendan loves to mountain bike, read, play sports, and explore the countless outdoor activities that Santa Rosa has to offer.
