Emmanuel V. Mendoza, M.D.
University of California, Davis; Emmanuel was born and raised in the California Central Valley in a small farming community, Hughson, CA which is located southeast of Modesto. His interest in medicine developed through his engagement with his farming worker community where he intimately experienced many health discrepancies. During his undergraduate studies at UC Davis and later as a medical student he was involved in Clinica Tepati, a student-run clinic that aims to reduce health discrepancies within the Latino communities of the greater Sacramento area. As a member of the UC Davis San Joaquin Valley PRIME, a program that aims to increase the diversity of physicians and remedy the uneven distribution of physicians in California, he had the opportunity to complete his clinical rotations in UCSF Fresno. His interest are in community engagement, mentorship, alternative medicine, mental health and addiction medicine. He enjoys running, hiking, playing music, working on small do-it-yourself projects and most important of all spending time with family.
