Excellence Integrity Relationship

Erin Felton, M.D.

Erin was born and raised near the beaches of Los Angeles, California, but considers herself a converted Bay Area native (shhh don’t tell her parents). Erin studied Public Health at UC Berkeley and moved to San Francisco after graduating to work at UCSF. After a stint in grant administration, Erin missed medical research and working with patients, so she transitioned to working as a clinical research coordinator in Pediatric Neuro-Oncology research. This experience, along with her amazing mentors, co-workers and patients pushed her to pursue a career in medicine. Erin attended medical school in the nation’s capital at George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences. While in medical school Erin pursued her interest in pediatric translational research and published her work on the microbiome of the cystic fibrosis lung in a peer reviewed journal and presented at national conferences. While Erin enjoyed research, after working at free clinics and community health centers, she became passionate about working with underserved populations, accessible primary care, and abortion rights/women’s health. Thus, she decided to pursue a career in Family Medicine and never looked back! Erin is so excited to move back to Northern California and continue her work in social justice, full spectrum family planning, addiction medicine and so much more at Sutter Santa Rosa Family Medicine Residency. In her free time, you can find her enjoying the outdoors, watching premier league soccer, reading books, trying out new recipes, and hanging out with her partner Andrew and their lab mix Tula.
