Gabriela Meckler, M.D.
University of California, Irvine; Born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, Gabriela studied Cognitive Science at UC San Diego and studied abroad in Granada, Spain. After college, she researched postoperative delirium in elderly patients at UCSF, which is where she decided she wanted to pursue a career in medicine. She then moved to Baltimore, MD to take premedical classes at Goucher College and volunteer at a clinic for uninsured patients in the area. While applying to medical school, Gabriela conducted research in atrial fibrillation at UCSF and Stanford where she had the privilege of presenting her published works at an international conference in Vienna. She is committed to working with Spanish-speaking and underserved populations in medicine, and during medical school worked to increase healthcare access and literacy for previously incarcerated people in Orange County. These interests, as well as her passion for geriatrics, women’s health, and preventative medicine, made Family Medicine a natural fit. In her free time, Gabriela loves getting out in nature, losing at board games, doing anything with her family, and getting lost in a good book.
