Nathalie Boittin, M.D.
Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania; Nathalie grew up in Switzerland and France before moving to the United States in high school. After studying astronomy and astrophysics at the University of Chicago, she decided that her future did not lie in a physics lab, and joined the Peace Corps in Burkina Faso, West Africa, for a project in girls’ education. She also did a number of health-related projects there that convinced her that medicine was the path for her, a decision that was confirmed after she returned to the United States and spent two years working as an HIV counselor in a community health clinic in Washington, DC. Prior to starting medical school, she headed off into the wilderness to hike the Appalachian Trail from Georgia to Maine. Nathalie is particularly interested in preventive care, women’s health and obstetrics, international medicine and infectious diseases. In her spare time, she loves hiking, biking, running, cooking (and eating), travel and reading.
