Jesse Perez, MD
Ross University School of Medicine; Jesse was born and raised in South Central Los Angeles, a historically underserved and uninsured area of Los Angeles. Both of his parents are Salvadoran immigrants and instilled in him the importance of education and hard work from an early age. Having seen firsthand the lack of access to healthcare amongst his own family and neighbors, Jesse decided to go to Golden West college in order to fulfill general education requirements and at the same time become an EMT. His experience as an EMT peaked his interest in healthcare and he therefore decided to transfer to UC Riverside in order to study Biology.

During his time at UC Riverside, Jesse participated in Flying Sam’s, where he was part of a student run clinic that provided basic health care services in El Hongo, Tijuana, MX. This experience further exposed him to health inequities that exist and motivated him to pursue medicine at Ross University. During medical school, Jesse chose Family Medicine because it would allow him to work on health promotion and disease prevention in his community while also building long lasting relationships with patients. Outside of medicine, Jesse enjoys running, biking, trying new wines, and spending time with his fiancé.
