Elizabeth Singh, DO, MS
Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine; Elizabeth was born in Queens, NY and raised in South Florida by her grandparents who imparted to her the importance of dedication and perseverance at a young age. As a sugarcane farmer, her grandfather migrated to the states from rural Guyana looking for a brighter future for his family. Knowing the sacrifices that were made for her education, she pursued a career in medicine with a passion for sustainable healthcare in underserved areas. While studying biological sciences at Florida Atlantic University, she worked as a medical assistant in a dermatology clinic and trained as a surgical assistant in MOHs Micrographic Surgery. As the medical surrogate for her aging grandparents, Elizabeth was no stranger to the healthcare system and its disparities.

Elizabeth pursued a master’s degree in biomedical sciences at FAU studying the effects of cytokines on biophysical mechanics of cancer cells using an atomic force microscope. Elizabeth’s passion for underserved medicine brought her to attend Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine where her dedication to patient care was reflected in her nomination and award of the Gold Humanism Honor Society. While at VCOM, Elizabeth spent a month in the rural communities of El Salvador working with local physicians providing care to women and children in local clinics and orphanages, as well as unopposed care to critically ill patients with HIV and tuberculosis in the mountainous regions. As a recipient of the Edward and Melissa Loniewski Scholarship for the medically underserved, Elizabeth hopes to continue her journey in helping those in need both domestic and abroad. New to the west coast, Elizabeth is excited to join the Sutter health family in Santa Rosa in efforts to further pursue her passions in global health, serving the underserved, women’s health, and practicing full-spectrum medicine. Outside of medicine, you can find Elizabeth in a hot yoga studio, at the gym, listening to podcasts, hanging with her orange tabby, backpacking and hiking.
