Anisah Al-Qadi, MD
Central Michigan University College of Medicine. Anisah is a Palestinian-American and the elder of 2 sisters. She was born in Oregon and lived there for 7 years before moving to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia where she graduated high school. Anisah returned to the U.S. to pursue a degree in Neuroscience at Michigan State University, while living with extended family in a large, multigenerational household. As a caregiver for her Arabic-speaking grandmother, Anisah helped navigate cultural and language barriers which spurred her interest in community-based health care. Her passion for family medicine is based on a desire to build long-term patient partnerships, providing preventative medicine and continuity of care for diverse populations.

During medical school, Anisah volunteered with local refugee resettlement programs, led interfaith initiatives, and formed a mentoring program to connect young professionals with high school and college students interested in medicine. She also helped develop new simulated patient experiences at her school that expanded on the culturally-competent healthcare curriculum. She has a passion for teaching, as well as global health and health advocacy. In her free time she enjoys spending time by the ocean, recently taking up surfing. She also relishes quality time with friends and family including her cat, Polo. Her hobbies include playing the piano, gardening, and creative writing.
