The SRFM Residency, in conjunction with the Department of Family and Community Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco, provides a four-week Family Medicine elective for 4th year medical students.
The clerkship is open to three students per block. One slot is reserved for UCSF students; two slots are open to 4th-year medical students in good standing at accredited allopathic and osteopathic medical schools. At this time, we are not set up to accommodate foreign/international medical students. |
"this is a truly wonderful community of people who welcomed me, incorporated me, shared with me, and pushed me to improve each day. couldn't have asked for a more positive experience." |

How to apply:
UCSF students may enroll through the Dept. of Community and Family Medicine. All other students need to provide us with a completed application, official transcripts, current CV, immunization record, any USMLE/COMLEX scores, and a short personal statement through the VSLO® Application System. |
"IT WAS A JOY TO LIVE IN THE COMMUNITY AND WORK ALONGSIDE AND LEARN FROM SUCH EXCELLENT HEALERS AND EXPERIENCED PHYSICIANS FOR A MONTH." |
The Residency receives a large number of applications from students hoping to attend our program for residency. Although we are unable to guarantee an interview for all students who complete a 4th-year elective (sub-internship) here, we are excited to have you rotate with us! We endeavor to provide you with an outstanding educational experience regardless of what specialty you choose or where you match.
