Residency Application Process

All PGY-1 applicants apply through ERAS, the Electronic Residency Application Service, through your medical school. International medical graduate applicants also use ERAS through the ECFMG (Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates). The ECFMG phone number is (215) 386-5900. We are currently unable to sponsor visas.
The deadline for applications and supporting materials is November 1, 2022. We will consider your application for an interview once the following are received:
  • ERAS application
  • Personal Statement
  • USMLE or COMLEX Step I Score
  • Official Transcript
  • ECFMG Certificate (IMG’s)
  • A minimum of Two Letters of Recommendation
Your full application must be received by the November 1st deadline and must include all the above items plus the following:
  • Dean’s Letter

We require that all applicants demonstrate a passing grade on the USMLE or COMLEX Step 1 prior to consideration of their residency application.  UMSLE Step 2 CK score is not required in order to be offered an interview.  However, a final passing score on Step 2 CK is required for final evaluation and ranking at our program.

All applicants must have graduated from medical school within the last 5 years (or have 2 years' experience in a regular clinical practice) and must have at least 1 year of clinical experience in the US (medical school rotations in the US count toward this requirement). We do not sponsor visas for medical trainees.

If upon review of your application you are selected to interview, you will be invited through ERAS. Our interviews are held on Mondays and Fridays. We will be interviewing from early November through late December.
Couples or partners are encouraged to apply to our program. Every attempt is made to accommodate individual scheduling needs.

PGY2
PGY-2 positions are sometimes available. Applicants are encouraged to call the Residency Office about availability. For more information please contact our Selection Coordinator at
