Allison Bacon, MD
She returned to Southern California for medical school, and from there continued her training at Santa Rosa Family Medicine Residency. After graduating in 2011, she spent three years in Santa Fe, New Mexico, as an NHSC scholar.
While there she delivered many babies, started a vasectomy program, and championed buprenorphine treatment for pregnant patients addicted to opioids. She also discovered her love of teaching residents, so when life brought her back to the Bay Area in 2014, she was fortunate to find a core faculty position at Kaiser Vallejo. While there she taught community medicine, procedures, and obstetrics, building curriculum in in the first three years of the program’s existence, and helping to expand the scope of family medicine within Kaiser.
Allison is delighted to be coming back to the SRFMR community. Curricular interests include maternal/child health and obstetric safety, global health, community medicine, leadership/professional development, and the intersection of medicine and the humanities. Outside of work, these days she enjoys time with her active family on their burgeoning mini-farm, trail running, and taking naps.
